Kristy started her second career almost 20 years ago at a time when many travel agencies were calling it quits. Why were they leaving? It was only a few months after the attack of 9/11 and the airlines had stopped paying a commission to travel agents. But Kristy was not looking for the average traveler. She created “Wheelchair Escapes,” a travel agency that specialized in special needs travel.
After about 8 or 9 years, she realized the able-bodied traveler was not looking for her. Then she created “Carefree Cruises and More” and set about looking for ways to find those able-bodied travelers.
She has earned many travel agent certifications and continues her education in travel. In 2009 she was named one of the Top 25 Agents in the US by Travel Agent Magazine.
About 10 years ago she joined Cruise Planners. Now she has the success of American Express and the power of Cruise Planners to bring more advantages to her clients.
Kristy has traveled to most of the Caribbean Islands, many states in the US, including Hawaii and Alaska. She has also visited Finland, Sweden, Norway, London, Denmark, St Petersburg, Russia, Estonia, Italy, Sicily, Greece, Turkey, France, Germany, Mexico, Israel, South Africa, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands. She most recently experienced an Un Cruise Adventure in the islands of Alaska.
In March 2022, she will visit Budapest, Hungary as well as many other small towns along the Danube.
